Your tasks
As a Research Engineer Electrical Simulation (m/f/d), you will work in an interdisciplinary team to develop and advance new technologies and product concepts in the field of “connection technologies” (cables, wires, and connectors). Your focus will be on applying simulation-based methods to solve electrical or mechanical topics. Based on your findings, you will derive innovative product ideas, develop prototypes, and validate concepts through calculations, simulations, and experimental setups.
- Optimization and further development of a simulation environment for solving electrical or mechanical topics, as well as for simulation-based validation of product concepts (numerical simulation/FEM and circuit simulations, and component modeling/CAD)
- Development, contribution and implementation of innovative technology concepts in the field of connectivity technologies (cables, wires and connectors), as well as electronic devices
- Independent contribution, responsibility for work packages, and coordination of activities in externally funded and inter-company research projects
- Independent coordination and definition of technical objectives for interdisciplinary in-house expert teams working on strategic technological focus areas
- Supervision of internships and final theses on strategic technology-related topics
Your profile
- Degree in engineering or industrial engineering (DHBW, university of applied sciences, or university), preferably with a focus on electrical engineering, mechatronics or related disciplines. Alternatively, a technician qualification with relevant additional certifications is also acceptable
- A high level of motivation, hands-on mentality, enthusiasm, flexibility, and creativity
- Experience with numerical simulation methods (e.g. COMSOL) and circuit simulation (e.g. LTSpice), as well as component modeling using CAD software (e.g. Catia or SolidWorks) is an advantage
- Strong affinity for solving technical challenges using state-of-the-art simulation and calculation methods, as well as a wide range of measurement and testing techniques
- Excellent German language skills and business-fluent English
- Ideally 1–3 years of professional experience in an industrial environment (e.g. development/manufacturing/mechanical engineering)
